About The OBN Academy Basketball Development Program

This yearly program is designed — with the help of our experienced coaches to nurture and maximize the skill set of these youngsters (dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and rebounding) from an early age. This program prepares them to earn a basketball scholarship with any of the 300 Division 1 College Basketball Programs in America so they may eventually get drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) league.

The longer the kids train at the academy, The better equipped they are to compete at the highest level which increases their chances at being selected by NBA scouts and coaches who routinely visit the OBN facility and watch our tournaments with the aim of picking talented players.

Benefits of the Program

Once a year all registered athletes at the OBN academy travel to the U.S/Canada or Europe to participate in international basketball tournaments.
ALL GAMES AND TRAINING SESSIONS AT THE ACADEMY ARE RECORDED AND MADE AVAILABLE FOR THE KIDS ON OUR ONLINE VIDEO CHANNELS so they can rewatch it at home for reference purposes. This increases their chances of being selected by NBA scouts and coaches who routinely visit the OBN facility and watch our tournaments with the aim of picking talented players.

The kids also participate in two of OBN’s annual tournaments

where games are broadcast live on OBN TV and by our TV partners. The tournaments are:

The OBN Summer Hoop Summit (June to August) where 48-52 teams (U12-U18) selected by our coaches compete for the ultimate basketball prize.
The OBN School Leagues where a group of selected schools (elementary and high school) across the country and continent converge to play against each other with prizes and rewards for winners of these tournaments
The goal is more about giving all athletes at OBN a real platform to play competitive games with some of the best basketball talents across the continent

Program Routine:

Weekdays: (Monday-Friday) From 8am – 8pm Daily.

Weekends: Saturdays: From 8am | Sundays: From 12noon

Holiday periods: From 8am week days, (weekends same as above)

The kids can come in as many times as they like (depending on their schedule)

Our basketball coaches are always on ground to train with them.

Note: To make the most of this program, we recommend the kids train at least 3 times a week at the OBN facility. This helps them develop their skills to a competitive NBA-standard where they could easily benefit from NBA scholarship opportunities with our partner schools overseas. The longer they train at the academy, the more exposure they get.
